Sydney University win Sydney Mini


Pat Caldwell and Paul Karp from the University of Sydney Union have won the Australian British Parliamentary Debating Champs, known as Sydney Mini.

In the Grand Final they defeated Tim Mooney and Bronwyn Cowell (Sydney A), Victor Finkel and Fiona Prowse (Monash University A) and Amit Golder and Seamus Coleman (Monash/Melbourne).

Melbourne Mini 2010 Results


The Melbourne Mini 2010 was run over the weekend.  The Grand final was contested by

OG: #firstworldproblems (Victor Finkel & Fiona Prowse)
OO: whatever Swain said (Elle Jones & Daniel Swain)
CG: Destiny’s miscarriage (Paul Karp & Pat Caldwell)
CO: MooCowell (Tim Mooney & Bronwyn Cowell)

The winners were Destiny’s miscarriage (Paul Karp & Pat Caldwell)

Best novice speakers were Tyrone Connell and Lloyd Wicks, while the best
speaker was Fiona Prowse.

Sydney win Vic Wellington IV 2010

The University of Sydney Union (Paul Karp & Pat Caldwell) has won the Victoria University of Wellington IV 2010.

In the final they defeated Monash University (Kiran Iyer & Ravi Dutta), Victoria University (Christopher Bishop & Stephen Whittington) and Victoria University (Jenna Raeburn & Ella Edginton).
